RESUMO Este trabalho teve como objetivo caracterizar a composição florística e a estrutura da comunidade arbórea de áreas em processo de recuperação ambiental no município de Bocaiúva do Sul-PR. A produção e divulgação de dados e informações sobre a florística e fitossociologia da cobertura florestal em duas áreas com condições ambientais e intervenções distintas é uma contribuição relevante para compreender a dinâmica na estrutura arbórea em áreas de recuperação ambiental. Para isso, foram selecionadas duas áreas com distintos graus de degradação: Floresta Secundária Inicial (FSI), área na qual houve corte raso, isto é, retirada das camadas superficiais do solo e revegetação com Mimosa scabrella Benth; e Floresta Secundária Avançada (FSA), que representa um fragmento de Floresta Ombrófila Mista em que houve exploração seletiva de espécies de interesse comercial. A amostragem da vegetação foi realizada em 10 parcelas de 150 m² em cada área (0,15 ha), nas quais foram mensurados todos os indivíduos arbóreos, incluindo as árvores mortas com circunferência a altura do peito (CAP) igual ou superior a 15 cm. Na FSI, foram amostradas 40 espécies pertencentes a 24 famílias, enquanto na FSA foram amostradas 57 espécies pertencentes a 27 famílias botânicas. Os resultados apontaram que a estrutura da vegetação na FSA é distinta da FSI, com menor densidade de árvores, maior área basal e diversidade florística.

ABSTRACT This work aimed to characterize the floristic composition and structure of the tree community of areas in the process of environmental recovery in the municipality of Bocaiuva do Sul, PR. The production and dissemination of data and information about floristic and phytosociology of forest cover in two areas with distinct environmental conditions and interventions, is a relevant contribution to understanding the dynamics in tree structure in areas of environmental recovery. For this, two areas with different degrees of degradation were selected: Initial Secondary Forest (FSI), area in which there was a clear cut, removal of the superficial layers of the soil and revegetation with Mimosa scabrella Benth; and Advanced Secondary Forest (FSA), which represents a fragment of Mixed Ombrophilous Forest where there was selective exploitation of species of commercial interest. Vegetation sampling was carried out in 10 plots of 150 m² in each area (0.15 ha), where all trees including dead trees with a diameter at breast height (DBH) equal or greater than 15 cm. In the FSI, 40 species belonging to 24 families were sampled, while in the FSA, 57 species belonging to 27 botanical families were sampled. The results showed that the vegetation structure in FSA is different from FSI, with lower tree density, higher basal area and floristic diversity.

RESUMO O objetivo desta pesquisa foi o entendimento dos processos e mecanismos geradores da distribuição espacial de Ocotea odorifera, com a discriminação de influências do ambiente das advindas de interação entre indivíduos. Para tanto, utilizou-se a distribuição espacial de árvores da espécie em uma região de 25 hectares de Floresta Ombrófila Mista (FOM) amostrada na Floresta Nacional (FLONA) de Irati. Esses dados, descritos sob a forma de um processo espacial pontual, foram apreciados por duas técnicas da Estatística Espacial. Primeiramente, foi utilizado um estimador de intensidade por kernel para avaliação de padrões globais de dispersão de árvores na região amostrada, e em seguida, a função K de Ripley não homogênea, que evidencia os padrões locais. Pôde-se verificar que os agrupamentos da espécie se situaram nas áreas mais elevadas da região amostrada, possivelmente em solos mais bem drenados. Além disso, constatou-se atração entre os indivíduos da espécie, originando agrupamentos nas maiores escalas avaliadas, conforme revelado pela função K de Ripley não homogênea.

ABSTRACT Distinction between generating mechanisms of the spatial patterns of forest species - case study with Ocotea odorifera. The objective of this research was the understanding of the processes and generating mechanisms of the spatial distribution of Ocotea odorifera, discriminating influences of the environment from those arising due to interactions between individuals. For this, coordinates from species trees were taken in a region of 25 hectares of Mixed Rain Forest (FOM) sampled in the National Forest (FLONA) of Irati. These data, described as a spatial point process, were evaluated by two Spatial Statistics techniques. Initially, a Kernel intensity estimator verified the global patterns of trees dispersion in the sampled region, and posteriorly, the non-homogeneous Ripley's K function was used to study the local patterns. It was verified that the species clusters were localized in the highest areas of the sampled region, possibly in better drained soils. Furthermore, attraction was found amongst the specie's individuals, originating clusters in the largest scales analyzed, as shown by the non-homogeneous Ripley's K function.

RESUMO Este estudo objetiva descrever a diversidade e investigar aspectos da classificação de um remanescente de floresta ripária na região de Lages, estado de Santa Catarina. Usando o método de parcelas foram alocadas vinte e cinco unidades amostrais ao longo do curso de água, sendo mensuradas todas as espécies arbóreas com diâmetro à altura do peito (DAP) maior ou igual a 5 cm. A comunidade apresentou um dossel multiestratificado com espécies emergentes de grande porte e uma riqueza de 67 espécies arbóreas. A distribuição em diâmetro evidenciou uma comunidade autoregenerativa, com um grande número de indivíduos de pequenos diâmetros, os quais juntamente com as árvores de grande porte, somaram altos valores de área basal e densidade por hectare. A classificação separou os trechos mais desenvolvidos com maior área basal e complexidade com a presença de Cabralea canjerana e Myrcia hatschbachii dos trechos mais instáveis e com presença das espécies mais generalistas Celtis iguanaea e Ilex brevicuspis, denotando uma grande variabilidade ambiental nesse tipo de floresta.

ABSTRACT This paper investigates aspects of classification and reports the diversity in a remnant of a riparian forest in Lages, Santa Catarina. Twenty-five plots were allocated along the river, and all trees with diameter at breast height (DBH) greater than or equal to 5 cm were measured. The community had 67 tree species and a canopy with emergent species. The diameter distribution showed a self-regenerating community, with a large number of small trees and high values of density and basal area per hectare. The classification separated the sites with higher basal area, presence of Cabralea canjerana and Myrcia hatschbachii and the sites with presence of generalist species Celtis iguanaea and Ilex brevicuspis, denoting a large environmental variability in this forest.
